The Talkhouse Café

A good place for breakfast. Service was accommodating and friendly. The staff managed to serve us during load shedding. The breakfast was well prepared, even if a bit under seasoned ( preference I guess ). Would really like to see more meat options ( only pork was available). The menu could also do with a bit more excitement. The items were fairly standard and I don’t remember any particular item that jumped at me. This isn’t always a bad thing though. The plunger coffee I ordered was good.

The versatility of The Talkhouse is unparalleled. Need a quick caffeine fix, a place to work the afternoon away, place to meet with friends. This place can do it all. And the best part of it, the coffee is great. They traditionally use the Friendly Blend Coffee Beans from Bluebird Coffee Roastery which was founded around the corner from here. Staff are amazing and the atmosphere is always buzzing. It feels like my ‘Central Perk’ !

The food exceeded my expectations. I saw it as highly rated but never got down to giving them a try until recently. The seating area isn't the most inviting but they offer cushions when you sit. Waiters were all very friendly and helpful. I'm really impressed and will be coming back.

We were seated as soon as we arrived by a very friendly waiter. He immediately gave us our menus and provided incredible service. The owner was also very warm. The seating and atmosphere were comfortable. Finally, the food! My penne Arriabbata was delicious, they weren't stingy with the mince and tomato which I loooove. The portion size was very filling including the big berrylicious smoothie, I rarely ever struggle to finish but I struggled. All around lovely service, I hope to try more next time!

Before going to this incredible restaurant, you should skip a few meals. You can't help but eat every dish because they are all so delicious. Excellent, modest, and lovely find. A tasting meal with a lot of variety and good value. Delicious meal with excellent presentation, service, and creativity. a top attraction in Westville. The Talkhouse was fantastic in every way. It smelled pleasant and was clean. The staff worked collaboratively, and our waiter was so kind. One thing that particularly impressed us was how hospitable everyone there was. Nearly every customer felt at home at this restaurant, and it was lovely to see how each one was recognized on a personal basis. Each employee here gives the consumer extraordinary attention. If I said I had ever been treated that way in a restaurant, I'd be lying. What a warm welcome, followed by outstanding cuisine and first-rate service. Do a favour to yourself and go here.

The steak I ordered came hot and tasted pretty good. It came medium well, as per my order. The shake tasted like strawberry pops. This place has a taste that's homemade, I'm a fan!
